LEARNING DESIGN, AND MUSEUM EXPERIENCE

I have been an actor, elementary teacher, and museum educator. I have hands-on experience designing lessons, creating content, and delivering information before thousands of people. I spent three years designing educational programs, training materials and educational scripts at The Henry Ford Museum. My team won a large format video award for combining educational programming with the IMAX Film “Lewis and Clark Great Journey West. My team and I were responsible for creating the content, educational script writing and working with other departments to deliver the program.

I had the opportunity to help with the program entitled, “Oh Freedom”, an educational and musical experience about the underground railroad. The program included historical actors and musicians telling the story of the underground railroad through spiritual songs. The program was viewed by hundreds of school groups and community organizations all over metro Detroit. I have worked on numerous research projects. One of them was researching historical information for the Sander’s Exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum. I also have experience using artifacts such as the Rosa Parks Bus, Edison’s Menlo Park and Lincoln’s chair to bring historical information to life.

TRAINING MATERIALS

I have worked as part of a team to create the content for many of the training materials for the museum education dept. I created training materials for the Great American Museum Experience program. Students from all over the country spend a night in the museum and experience educational programs. I was responsible for creating a production book used for training the presenters of the program. The production book included program overview, presentation scripts, program logistics, and other documents needed to present the program. As a teacher, I also have had to create lessons, learning objectives, and production documentation for presenting information to students.

VIDEO PRODUCTION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

I have been involved with video production at Woodside Bible Church for the past seven years. At the church, I have had the opportunity to help with the live video services that are produced for the church. The video production is viewed by 130 cable channels all over Metro Detroit and Michigan. The programs are also live streamed through the web and can be seen all over the world.

I have experience with the Adobe Creative Suite and other production software Including Photoshop, Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects, Audition, Pro Tools, Cinema 4d lite, Element 3d. I also have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. I have the capability of doing all of the presentation and voice over work on projects.

As a performer, I have also had the opportunity to be talent in an educational production of Our Great Region produced by Detroit Public Television. The program showcased historical artifacts in the Michigan area.  I have worked as a juggler in the Michigan Renaissance Festival and have taken theater classes at the Purple Rose Theater co. I am currently studying piano at Masters School of Music and can design custom music for presentations.
